SHAH ALAM, Sept 22 — The Selangor Saring free health screening programme has been met with a very enthusiastic response, with some 45,000 people joining since its launch in May.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the number of participants in the programme, which concluded on September 11, also exceeded its initial target of 31,000 individuals.

Of the 45,000, approximately 4,809 people have been advised to seek further treatment.

“The state government allocated RM3.1 million for Selangor Saring to be carried out throughout the state.

“We will continue to prioritise the health and welfare of the people of Selangor,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Selangor Saring offers physical screenings including blood and urine, eyes, breasts and cervical tests, as well as colorectal and prostate tests.
