PUTRAJAYA, July 4 — Pakatan Harapan (Harapan) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today said seat distribution for state polls have been finalised between Harapan and Barisan Nasional (BN).

Speaking to reporters after launching a book titled Adab Perbezaan Pendapat Dalam Islam here today, the Prime Minister said he met BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi recently to settle seat distribution for the two coalitions.

“No issue (of overlapping seats) so far,” he said.

The six states holding elections are Selangor, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.

Anwar said he expects Harapan to take over two states and retain the three it held.

“I see we are strong in the three states and we can retain them, and God willing, there is a big chance for us to take over two other states,” he said, without naming any of them.

The three states under Harapan are Selangor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan, while Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu are under Perikatan Nasional (PN).

Yesterday, Election Commission (EC) secretary Datuk Ikmalrudin Ishak reportedly said the EC will hold a special meeting tomorrow to discuss important dates for the polls.

He said the meeting was called after the EC received official dissolution notices from the Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Penang, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan assembly speakers.
