Kota Kinabalu: The State Government will continue to strengthen Sabah's energy sector as a key development priority through the Sabah Energy Roadmap and Master Plan 2040 (SE-RAMP 2040), says Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
In his speech delivered by Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam at the launch of the Sabah Sustainable Energy for the People programme on Wednesday, Hajiji said the roadmap aims to enhance energy security, diversify energy sources and expand renewable energy use.
He said the launch of the Sabah Energy Efficiency Action Plan (SEEAP) and the Sabah People Solar Programme marked another milestone towards building a more reliable, sustainable and affordable energy system.
Hajiji said collaboration between the Government, industry, educational institutions and communities is essential to drive innovation, investment and the State's energy transition.
He said the State Government would continue working with the Federal Government, the Energy Commission of Sabah (ECoS) and industry stakeholders to ensure Sabah's energy system supports long-term economic growth.
