SHAH ALAM, March 2 — Bukit Lanjan state assemblyman Pua Pei Ling hopes Selangor can establish more artificial intelligence (AI) courses to enhance youths’ employability.
She said AI technology can potentially boost various fields, including the creative industry, research laboratories, and programmes which drive innovation.
“The world is rapidly moving towards digitisation, so I also hope our children will not be left behind when mastering digital skills in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses.

“I also thank His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, who is proud that the state government has its own TVET centre, namely the Selangor Technical Skills Development Center (STDC), to train the younger generations in vocational skills,” Pua said.
She was speaking during the debate on Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj’s royal address, at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting yesterday.
Pua also recommended that the state government provide mobile counters on weekends to facilitate people’s access to public services.
She added the location of the mobile counters should be chosen according to local needs, especially in focused areas, to meet public demand.
“There are issues which need to be addressed immediately, including potholes, damaged traffic lights, and so on, which require government agencies to act quickly without bureaucracy,” Pua said.
