REFERENCE is made to our report “Injunction against Sabah Forest Industries eviction” dated 19 July, 2023.
The High Court did not grant any ad interim injunction against the State Government of Sabah on the oral application made by the counsel of the Receiver of Manager (R&M) of Sabah Forest Industries Sdn Bhd (SFI) on June 22.
During the clarification before Judicial Commissioner Amelati Parnell on July 17, Amelati after hearing the submission of counsel Tengku Datuk Ahmad Fuad for the Sabah State Government and three Others, had confirmed that the ad interim order only stays the Notice of Eviction dated May 24, 2023 pending disposal of the judicial review filed by the Receiver and Manager Grant Thornton.
