On 10 May 2026, in conjunction with Mother's Day, my family visited The Island at Cyberjayasouth, lush green sanctuary south of Putrajaya & Cyberjaya. It was thoughtfully designed by the Avaland to reconnect the community with nature through sustainable placemaking and inclusive public spaces. Being given to understand by my son, Farouq that “Part of the 417-acre Cybersouth masterplan, The Island acts as the township's green lung, offering a unique retreat that brings together biodiversity, eco-conscious design, and active lifestyle features, all within a serene lakeside setting for natural environment. It goes beyond traditional landscaping to create a climate-resilient environment planted with over 200 native species trees that enhances value of the area."
My grandchildren enjoyed a fresh outdoor oasis, The Island features scenic walking paths, lush landscapes, and relaxing open spaces perfect for families. For children, it serves as an immersive “living classroom” where they can interact with nature to observe birds and aquatic life in a safe & eco-conscious environment. It is a recreational & community spaces of large, open lawns designed for unstructured play, family picnics, and weekend outdoor activities.
The Island regularly hosts community gatherings, such as the Resort Lifestyle Market, featuring workshops & child-friendly activities specially for kids. I noticed there is a dedicated trail designed for exploration that highlights the island's biodiversity, allowing kids to learn about local ecosystems firsthand.
I discovered Avaland Berhad (formerly known as MCT Berhad) is primarily owned by Ayala Land Inc., one of the largest & famous property developers in the Philippines. It holds approximately 66.25% of the company's shares through its institutional investment subsidiary the Regent Wise Investment Ltd. Avaland envisions The Island as a blueprint for future urban living. The park will continue to mature as a biodiversity sanctuary, growing into green dense urban forest. Cyberjaya as the Silicon Valley of Malaysia continues to expand, The Island is positioned to become one of primary recreational destinations.
