Former Newcastle United fullback Steve Watson has joined the academy coaching staff.
Watson left Chester City as manager at the end of last season and has now teamed up to support Academy boss and old team-mate Steve Harper at Newcastle, says ChronicleLive.
Watson is the Magpies' youngest ever first-team debutant - playing for Jim Smith's team in 1990 at just 16.
He will now work with the academy players - having come through the system himself.
