Manchester City ace John Stones has explained his new midfield role for manager Pep Guardiola.
Stones was employed as a centre half when Bayern Munich had the ball in their Champions League quarter final on Tuesday.
However, Stones would push up into central midfield whenever City were in possession.
After City's 3-0 first leg win, Stones told BT Sport: [It's been a] big learning curve for me in positioning, being unselfish, knowing when to create space for others.
It doesn't come naturally, but I'm learning all the time and giving for the team first and foremost.
It's about getting on the ball, expressing myself and trying to read situations and you know whatever the manager is asking of me.
We work on that in training all the time, so when it comes to match days we know our roles."
