Store clerk pulls ‘Jedi mind trick’ on would-be robber during chaotic stick-up attempt

A would-be robber was ‘Jedi mind tricked’ into putting down her weapon by a store clerk during a chaotic attempted hold-up in West Virginia.

Surveillance video shows a woman in a grey hoodie attempt to rob the Shell Station in Lincoln County at 4am on May 1.

During the course of her attempt, the clerk convinces her to temporarily put down her gun, which has been likened to a ‘Jedi mind trick’ from Star Wars, before she fires into a wall.

The clerk than convinces her that the owner of the store is in the back counting money. When she fell for the ruse, the clerk was able to run out and call 911.

Rebecca Peterson, 42, of Oceana, was pulled over in her black SUV a short time later and is now facing a number of charges.
