Stranded driver leaps out of way as car smashes into his disabled vehicle on highway

A driver stranded on the side of the highway narrowly missed being hit by a car that smashed into his broken-down vehicle.

Video from an Ohio Department of Transportation traffic camera shows the individual waiting by their red minivan in the closed lane on I-670 near Columbus, Ohio on Monday (3 August).

Two vehicles driving in the closed lane then approached the broken-down vehicle, as the driver jumped out of the way onto the median wall at the very last second.

Whilst one veered out of the way, the other smashed into the rear of the minivan, which contained one person sitting in the passenger seat. No reports of injuries have been released.

“This is about the closest call I’ve ever seen. Pay attention!” said an official from the department, urging people not to enter a closed lane unless in an emergency.
