Something strange is brewing in the Upside Down, sending the Hawkins Investigators Club (HIC) back into action in the upcoming season 2 of Stranger Things: Tales from ’85. The Hawkins gang may have defeated the Horde Queen in the first season of the animated Stranger Things spin-off, but their troubles are far from over.
Just four months after the show’s first season debuted on Netflix, the streaming giant unveiled the first-look images for season 2 and confirmed its release date. The Hawkins gang will return to familiar corners of the seemingly quaint town in Indiana but will also venture into places they have never explored before — including deep inside a mine.
Living a normal life is hardly an option when you’re running a paranormal investigation club, and the Hawkins kids are about to find that out the hard way. Showrunner Eric Robles teased what’s in store for fans in the upcoming season, revealing that strange “flowers are popping up all over Hawkins.”

What is the plot of Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 season 2?
The new season will pick up after the events of the season 1 finale, with the HIC settling back into their usual routine of arcade games and preparing for the upcoming Valentine’s Day festivities. However, their everyday lives are soon disrupted when Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Max and Nikki discover a strange phenomenon taking over Hawkins: mysterious iridescent flowers are beginning to surface across their town. The people of Hawkins also find themselves plagued by strange creatures known as hate sprites.
But the mystery behind these beautiful flowers and the appearance of hate sprites is not the only problem HIC will deal with. Robles also revealed that “Nikki and Max are scheming to sell the flowers all over Hawkins,” creating a bigger issue.
The HIC must get to the bottom of this mystery before it leads to the opening of a new gate to the Upside Down.
