- Mr Streeting told Sir Keir in his resignation letter that it is “clear that you will not lead the Labour Party into the next general election”.

- Sir Keir has vowed to "fight on" despite suggestions of an imminent challenge.
- Reports suggest senior Cabinet members will meet with the prime minister to urge his resignation, while Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham also cancelled an appearance for related discussions.
