  • US congressional committee files reportedly show a US ambassador referring to Epstein as his “best pal”, and Mandelson was featured in Epstein’s 50th birthday book compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell.
  • Appearing on Sky News, Mr Streeting said that Lord Mandelson “deeply regrets ever having been introduced” to Epstein.
  • Mr Streeting rejected calls for Mandelson’s removal from his ambassadorial role, arguing that individuals should not be considered “guilty by association”.
