KUALA LUMPUR: A strong earthquake, of 6.3 magnitude on the Richter scale, hit Mindoro in the Philippines at 10.19 am today, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department.
The quake occurred 45 km west of Batangas City in the Philippines, at a depth of 121 km.
Initial assessment found no tsunami threat to Malaysia, it said. -Bernama
