KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded a strong financial performance with RM6.842 billion in revenue for 2024 while maintaining 22 consecutive years of clean audit reports.
Head of State Tun Musa Aman congratulated the Chief Minister and all involved for the outstanding achievement during his policy speech at the State Legislative Assembly on Thursday.
He highlighted the State’s consistent record of receiving unqualified audit certificates without reprimands from the National Audit Department.
The State Government, he said, has diversified its revenue by imposing State Sales Tax on silica sand, exported palm oil biomass, and mined gold and silver.
Tun Musa also lauded the government’s steps to improve financial governance, including stricter procurement procedures and reforms in State Statutory Bodies and GLCs.
