  • The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for wind across large parts of the UK over the Easter bank holiday weekend.
  • Warnings are in place for Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the north of England throughout Saturday and Sunday.
  • A “rapidly deepening area of low pressure” is expected to bring peak gusts of 50-60 mph widely, with 60-70 mph in more exposed areas.
  • Parts of Scotland, particularly the west, could experience very strong winds of 80-90 mph in exposed locations for a time.
  • The strong winds may cause damage, travel disruption, and a slight chance of power cuts and impact on mobile phone coverage.
