KIULU: Part of the roof of the pavilion at SMK Tun Fuad Stephens here was blown off by strong winds that swept through parts of the district this afternoon.
The incident, which happened at about 2.40pm, also caused minor damage to several teachers’ vehicles after the roof was carried some 30 metres before landing on them.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as all students were in their classrooms during lessons while rain was falling at the time.
Videos shared online showed the roof being lifted by the wind before it crossed over the school’s computer lab building.
The structure eventually came to rest in the teachers’ car park, while the Meteorological Department had earlier issued a thunderstorm warning from midday yesterday affecting several districts in Sabah.
