A food vendor from Penang is being praised for his kindness and generosity.

The vendor, Mike Tan, took to his Facebook page to explain how a struggling man had approached him for a meal and asked if he could pay for it the next day.

Mike wrote, “This morning (January 13), an Indian friend came to the stall and said to me, ‘Boss, please don’t be angry at me. Can I please pay tomorrow? I don’t have a job right now‘.”

What Mike did next shows true humanity and a sense of understanding for his fellow community members.

“Without saying anything else, I asked him to sit down and I made him a bowl of noodles. It’s actually not easy for many people these days, and it takes a certain amount of courage for him to ask to make payment tomorrow. All I can give him is a meal to keep him full,” he explained.

He added that, while many are wondering which luxury goods to buy next, many people cannot even afford basic necessities such as food.

“You, who are lucky, may be worrying about which BMW to buy. The unlucky may be worrying about whether they have enough to eat today.”

Many praised Mike for his kindness.
