
At MNIT Jaipur, a student told Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw the IRCTC app and website needed improvement, citing captcha issues and delays in Tatkal bookings, OTPs, payments, repeated verification and app crashes during peak hours.
Vaishnaw contacted officials on the spot and ordered a new website be developed to improve passenger experience, announcing launch on July 15.
Another student suggested baby-feeding rooms for women travelling with infants on long journeys; the minister said officials would examine the proposal to improve facilities for women and children.
He was at MNIT to interact with students and inaugurate a Makers Lab, announcing semiconductor, quantum technology and artificial intelligence labs on campus.
He urged students to study emerging technologies such as semiconductors and nano SIMs, saying they offer significant global employment opportunities.
