KOTA KINABALU: A student told the Coroner’s Court she did not scold Zara Qairina Mahathir when questioning her about a missing purse on the night before Zara was found unconscious at the SMKA Tun Mustapha hostel.
Counsel Azhier Farhan Arisin said the student, identified as the 10th child deponent, only asked Zara about the missing item during their brief exchange.
He said his client clarified that she spoke calmly and did not raise her voice when Zara came to her dorm that night.
The student also testified that Zara appeared normal at the time and did not show any signs of distress or emotional upset.
Azhier briefed reporters after the court session on Thursday as the inquest into Zara’s death continued.
