
KUDAT: Twelve students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Kudat were rewarded and recognised by the Tanjong Kapor Assemblyman, Datuk Chong Chen Bin @ Ben Chong, in a brief ceremony at the Tanjong Kapor office of the Sabah Gagasan Rakyat Party (PGRS).
He said the reward was given to appreciate the abilities of these students, who participated in the World Sustainable Development Goal (WSDG) competition organised by the Malaysia Young Scientists Organisation (MYSO), with the results announced on Nov 2, 2024.
Chong said SMK Kudat’s success demonstrates that students from Kudat are capable of competing on the global stage, serving as an inspiring motivation for more students in the area to create innovative products related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), as well as environmental sustainability.
“The Shani Global team won a gold medal for their product Biojade, an eco-friendly mosquito repellent made from Mugwort leaves, lemongrass, and eucalyptus leaves.
