Officials of the Sashastra Seema Bal conduct a yoga camp for students in Shimla on Wednesday.

Students of Government Senior Secondary School, Tutikandi, were encouraged to adopt yoga and a healthy lifestyle by officials of the Medical Training Centre, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), during a programme organised as part of Yoga Mahotsav.

Yoga instructor Sub-Inspector (physiotherapist) Pushpender Kumar and yoga instructor Chief Constable (medical) Rampal, from the Centre, informed the students and school staff about the various health benefits of yoga. Participants enthusiastically took part in the programme and performed yoga.

“The programme’s objective was to increase awareness of yoga among students and the general public,” said Kumar. He added, “In the coming days, the SSB will organise more such programmes in various institutions under Yoga Mahotsav, so that people become aware of the health benefits of yoga.”

Principal Anita Thakur also appreciated the awareness programme and said yoga was very important for the physical and mental development of students.
