The Only Thing Standing in Our Way……Is Ourselves
How often do we stop ourselves from pursuing something because we don't believe we have what it takes? Chances are that most of us have gone through life experiencing this feeling at least a few times. This just shows how powerfully inhibiting our own minds are!
Whenever we hear our inner voice whispering to us that we're not capable of taking on a task or a job, we more often than not tend to meekly abandon our efforts, thus giving in to that voice.
But what if we can stop giving in so easily? What if there's a way to diminish the relevance of said inner voice? This will require training.
We need to train ourselves to pay less attention to our inner inhibitor and trust ourselves more. In many instances, what's required is a leap of faith, whereby we tell ourselves to just do it and engage in that particular decision or job.
More often than not, once we're underway of doing that thing, we'll realize that we've always had what it takes and that there wasn't any reason to be hesitant or apprehensive at all!
This shows that thoughts aren't equivalent to reality. What we perceive will happen will not necessarily transpire when we're actually in that situation. We need to remind ourselves of this regularly, especially when on the verge of making an important decision or undertaking a job.
The choice is ultimately up to us. We can choose to let our inner critic continue to firmly dictate our decisions in life. Or, we can recognize it for what it truly is: just a thought with little influence over us.
