
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s two independent candidates in the parliamentary election – Verdon Bahanda in Kudat and Riduan Rubin in Tenom both garnered 16,350 votes in all.
In a five-party contest, Verdon garnered 16,323 votes from a turnout of 45,108 voters with a majority of 1,967 votes over his nearest rival to be Kudat MP.
In a five-cornered contest, Riduan polled 10,027 votes from a turnout of 28,649 voters with a majority of 1,108 votes over his nearest rival to be Tenom MP.
