I am sure your mouth will water when you hear the word ‘Chicken Kebabs’. What are chicken kebabs? Chicken kebabs are boneless chicken that is marinated in yogurt, oil and spices and it can be served on a skewer, kebab-style.

This kebab recipe that I will share with you is very easy and simple to prepare. Let’s start now.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams boneless chicken pieces (cut 1 – 1.5 inch square pieces)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 6 tablespoons of thick yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons chilli powder
  • 2 teaspoons coriander powder
  • 2 teaspoons cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 4 tablespoons of oil (any type)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for basking)
  • 6 satay sticks/skewers (soak in hot water for 10 minutes)

Method

  1. Take a large mixing bowl and put in the chicken, ginger paste, garlic paste, lime juice, salt and yogurt. Mix well for 1 minute.
  2. Now add all the spices like chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala and turmeric powder and mix well.
  3. Lastly, add oil to the marination and leave it to marinate for 4 hours.
  4. After 4 hours, take your 1st stick and pierce through the chicken pieces. Do it slowly and put 5 pieces on a stick. Keep it in a tray.
  5. Keep on doing so until you finish your chicken skewers. You will get about 5 chicken kebabs.
  6. Take a grilled pan with lines on it. Heat the pan on low heat. Assemble all your chicken kebabs and apply some butter on the skewers.
  7. Cook for 10 minutes on low heat and then turn over your kebabs and cook again for 8 to 10 minutes on medium heat. Brush with some butter on top again.
  8. You should get some grilled marks on it. Done! Your Succulent Chicken Kebabs are ready!

Final thoughts

  1. You can marinate your chicken overnight. Your kebabs will taste better.
  2. If you like you can apply some oil to the kebabs as well.
  3. If you want a red colour to your kebabs, you may add 2 drops of red colouring.
