Sue Ramirez bids farewell to late mother

MANILA, Philippines — Sue Ramirez shared an emotional farewell to her mother Chit Dodd, describing the loss as a pain that will never leave her heart.

The actress took to Instagram to express her grief and reflect on the life and love she shared with her mother.

Hindi namin alam kung paano mabuhay sa mundo ng wala ka (If there is anything longer than forever, that is how long I will love you, Mom. This is a pain that will never leave my heart. I don't know what to do, Mom. We don't know how to live in a world without you,)” Ramirez wrote in her post.

Ramirez said she hoped her mother knew how deeply she was loved and acknowledged the void her passing has left in the family.

(I hope you know how much we love you and how great the space you will leave in all our lives.)

The actress also described having Dodd as her mother as one of the greatest things she was grateful for in life.

(The thing I am most grateful for in life is that you became my mother. Nothing is more painful than losing you.)

(Thank you for everything, Mom. For the life you gave me, for all your understanding and patience, for the affection and laughter, and for a love that no one could ever match.)

She also vowed that Dodd's memory would remain part of the family's lives.

Sobrang mamimiss kita, Mi.” (We will never stop talking about you and telling everyone with pride that we are Chit's children. I will miss you so much, Mom.)

Ramirez ended her tribute with a final declaration of love.

“Mahal na mahal na mahal kita. Hanggang sa Muli, Mi.” (I love you so, so much. Until we meet again, Mom.)

Her post drew an outpouring of condolences from her celebrity friends and colleagues, including Angelica Panganiban, Charlie Dizon, Rico Blanco, Maymay Entrata, Ara Mina, Rufa Mae Quinto, Darren Espanto, Marjorie Barretto, Eugene Domingo, Carla Abellana and Nikki Valdez, among many others.

Ramirez’s mother, Concepcion “Chit” Dodd, died Aug. 17, 2026, at age 69, after a period of serious health problems. Earlier this year, Ramirez appealed for blood donors as her mother prepared to undergo open-heart surgery. Dodd had also faced other health complications, although the family has not disclosed the cause of her death.
