KUALA LUMPUR: The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah expressed his sadness at the news related to police’s investigation into the criminal activities of GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH) and its network.
His Highness said all serious criminal acts linked to GISBH based on the results of police investigation have defamed the good name and sanctity of Islam.
“Various evidence has been found pointing to suspected criminal offences such as abuse of students, exploitation of children, forced labour, sexual crimes including sodomy committed in several charity homes including Islamic religious schools under the supervision of GISBH ,“ he said in a statement today.
He said offences on practices that are contrary to Islamic religious beliefs have also been detected and suspected of being committed at several premises of the GISBH group.
“According to the report received by me, most of the charity homes under the supervision of GISBH involved in the investigation have been operating for a long time in several states in the country, especially the state of Selangor, without registration as required by the law,“ said the Sultan.
