HULU LANGAT, March 18 — Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj today officiated the Bandar Teknologi Kajang Mosque here.
The Ruler arrived at the mosque with Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, and Their Royal Highnesses were greeted by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
Sultan Sharafuddin signed the officiation plaque at the ceremony.
The mosque was completed in 2023 on a seven-acre site at a cost of RM12.5 million. It can accommodate 2,300 congregants.
During the officiation, the Sultan presented aid worth RM281,000 to 201 hardcore poor people, 280 poor people, and 81 reverts from the district.

Meanwhile, Hulu Langat District Officer Dato’ Mohd Jusni Hashim said two more mosques are being built in the district.
“Baitur Rahman Mosque in Alam Sari, Kajang, is 80 per cent done, with a construction cost of RM33 million.
“Another mosque under construction, 86 per cent done, is the Bandar Tasik Kesuma Mosque, with an RM25.6 million allocation,” he said.
Sultan Sharafuddin then listened to a special talk titled “The Miracle of Al-Quran from a Scientific and Statistical Perspective”, delivered by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia ex-lecturer Mohd Arip Kasmo in conjunction with Nuzul Quran.
The Selangor Sultan, Tengku Permaisuri, and Raja Muda also broke their fast at the mosque with the people.
