Kota Kinabalu: The Sulu Sultanate never had any base in North Borneo (now Sabah) to rule over the territory they claimed was given to them by the Sultan of Brunei, who had never recognised this claim.
“There were no remnants of any palace of the Sulu Sultan ever found in North Borneo.
“Besides why would any ruler direct acts of piracy, raids and kidnapping of people he claimed to rule over?” said local historian Avtar Singh (pic) in his zoom presentation “Sulu Sultanate; Masters of False Narratives.”
