Due to the summer vacation, the regular functioning of Sessions Courts and subordinate courts across Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh will remain suspended from June 1 to June 30.
During this period, regular hearings in civil matters will not be held, while criminal courts will continue to function normally until June 15.
Sharing the details, Sessions Judge Harpreet Kaur Randhawa said that from June 16 to June 30, regular hearings in criminal matters will also remain suspended and courts will remain closed, except for urgent cases.
She added that duty rosters of judicial officers have been prepared to ensure the hearing of urgent matters, including bail applications, stay petitions and other emergency cases, during the vacation period.
A detailed roster has also been issued, under which designated judges will hear urgent matters on specified dates to ensure that litigants do not face inconvenience during the court vacation.
Meanwhile, District Attorney Dinesh Kumar Verma said the Prosecution Department has deputed government counsels to represent the State before the vacation courts during the holiday period, ensuring the smooth handling of urgent government-related matters.
