Sunderland midfielder Lynden Gooch has penned a contract extension at the club.
The 26-year-old American made 45 appearances for the Black Cats in the 2021-2022 season.
Sunderland are now back in the Championship after gaining promotion through League One.
Gooch had been linked with a move to Preston this summer.
"This is important for my family and I because this is our home," Gooch told the club website.
"I've been here for 10 years as a professional and I'm really pleased that we are all going to be here for another two years."
