Join Sunway Medical Centre’s free health carnival on 26 April 2026 for screenings, fun & wellness
SUNWAY Medical Centre, Sunway City (SMC) is set to host its much-anticipated SunMed Healthy Living Carnival 2026 on Sunday, April 26 2026, from 10am to 4pm at the SMC Tower D Lobby. Held under the theme “Better Health. Better Life,” the free community event is designed to promote preventive healthcare, healthy lifestyle habits, and overall wellbeing for individuals and families alike.
A Timely Response to Malaysia’s Health Crisis
The carnival comes at a critical time for public health in Malaysia. According to recent data, more than 2.85 million Malaysian children aged 5 to 19 are anticipated to be overweight or obese by 2026, while over 32.6% of Malaysian adults are also affected by obesity. Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) — including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer — continue to rise, driven largely by lifestyle factors.
Timed to coincide with World Health Day in April, the carnival offers Malaysians a practical, accessible platform to take charge of their health.
What to Expect at the Carnival
Visitors can look forward to a full day of complimentary health screenings and assessments carried out by SMC’s Centres of Excellence, including:
- – Body Composition Analysis
- – Blood Glucose & Cholesterol Test
- – Postural Blood Pressure Test
- – Sit-to-Stand Endurance Test
Beyond health screenings, the event will also feature a lineup of interactive and educational activities, including the Lightning Reflex Challenge, a Pickleball Challenge, a Healthy Living Marketplace, hearing and cancer health awareness booths, flash quiz sessions, and lucky draw segments.

A Commitment to Community Wellbeing
Tan Mei Shin, Senior Director of Business Development and Corporate Communications at Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City, said: “Here at SMC, our commitment to the health and wellbeing of our patients and community is at the heart of everything we do. Through our annual Health Carnival, we aim to empower fellow Malaysians to strengthen their immunity, maintain physical fitness, and embrace an active lifestyle.”
She added that the hospital hopes to inspire communities to prioritise their wellbeing and lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
Award-Winning Care Behind the Carnival
SMC’s dedication to community health is backed by a strong track record of clinical excellence. The hospital was recently named Malaysia’s top hospital in the Newsweek World’s Best Hospitals 2026 rankings for the second consecutive year. It also claimed Hospital of the Year for the fifth consecutive year and the Smart Hospital Initiative of the Year at the Healthcare Asia Awards 2026 — recognition that underscores its unwavering commitment to patient safety and measurable health outcomes.
