PETALING JAYA: Sunview Group Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Fabulous Sunview Sdn Bhd, secured an engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) contract with an approximate value of RM2 billion as part of a consortium with Cypark Renewable Energy Sdn Bhd, known as Consortium CRE-SUNVIEW.
The EPCC contract was awarded by TNB Power Generation Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Bhd, for the development of a floating solar photovoltaic (PV) plant with a capacity of 595 MWac, along with a battery energy storage system (BESS) at Kenyir Lake, Terengganu.
The project is scheduled to commence on June 2, 2026, with a targeted completion date of Sept 29, 2028.
The consortium comprises Fabulous Sunview and Cypark Renewable Energy, with equity stakes of 40% and 60%, respectively.
Sunview Group executive director and group CEO HP Ong said the group looks forward to collaborating with Cypark on this landmark project.
“This development not only marks our first venture into floating solar PV plants but also represents the largest contract secured by the group in terms of value.
“This milestone reflects our continued growth in both order book and technical capabilities as we expand into more complex renewable energy solutions.
“As Malaysia accelerates its energy transition, we remain committed to strengthening our expertise and delivering reliable projects.
“Together with our consortium partner, we are confident in executing this project successfully while creating long-term value for our stakeholders and supporting the nation’s clean energy ambitions,” he said.
Sunview Group is a prominent renewable energy (RE) player involved in the EPCC-related activities.
The group endeavours to become the leading RE provider, dedicated to further diversifying into clean energy sources beyond solar.
This complements its role in the vertical integration of the solar energy supply chain.
