KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 — A new South Korean superhero action series Moving has become the highest-viewed Korean series on Disney+ globally and Hulu in America based on streaming hours after seven days.
It also became the most viewed series on Disney+ in the Asia-Pacific region (Apac) including Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia a week after its August 9 premiere.
This makes the series the biggest Korean premiere on Disney+ based on streaming hours.
The Walt Disney Company Apac Executive Vice President of Original Content Strategy Carol Choi said in a statement that the global consumer response to Moving has ‘exceeded expectations’.
“From the US to all across APAC, it is fast becoming a breakout hit with its captivating storyline, world-class cast and incredible post-production effects — all coming together to deliver exceptional storytelling,” Choi said.
The espionage series revolves around a group of super-powered South Korean spies protecting their ‘gifted’ children from devious government agencies.
It features an ensemble cast of Korean stars including Ryu Seung-ryong, Han Hyo-joo and returning veteran actor Zo In-sung.
Reviews from KBS Media, Forbes, and Newsweek have called Moving a refreshing superhero story with a heart that proves the quality of South Korean dramas.
The thrilling series has 11 episodes to date with two new episodes released every Wednesday and a three-part series finale to come on September 20.
Moving is currently available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar.
