‘Support MSMEs by buying local products’

PAPAR: The public are urged to support and buy local products of Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (MSME) put up for sale in designated shelves at Petronas Kedai Mesra outlets nationwide, including Sabah.

Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, said the initiative is implemented under “Love Local Campaign” by Petronas from Aug 25 until Sept 30, in support of ‘Buying Malaysian Products Campaign (KBBM) spearheaded by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN).

“KPDN praised Petronas for its high commitment in supporting local businesses especially MSMEs and strengthening the national agenda of promoting Malaysian-made products which also reflects the patriotism spirit while helping local traders.

“Petronas is committed in placing MSME products at over 850 Mesra outlets nationwide, including 50 in Sabah, that play a significant role in empowering local entrepreneurs and a campaign to ensure our local products are given priority,” he said.

Armizan said this after presenting Jalur Gemilang kits under the “1 House, 1 flag” Industrial Cluster Initiative and launch of the Love Local Campaign 2025 at a Petronas Petrol Station near here.

Armizan said the Petronas Kedai Mesra outlets currently collaborate with 1,842 local suppliers with annual MSME sales recording strong growth momentum exceeding RM150 million.

“This partnership not only strengthens patriotism in supporting local products but also ensures that our homegrown entrepreneurs continue to thrive,” he said.
