Suspect in Nur Farah’s murder is cop, says Selangor police chief

THE suspect remanded in connection with the murder of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah is a policeman.

According to the New Straits Times, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the suspect has been identified as a policeman posted in Perak.

“Based on our initial investigations, the scene where the body was found is believed to be the primary crime scene.

“The body had already started to decompose when it was found,” he said when contacted by NST today.

The suspect was earlier remanded for seven days to assist the investigation into the murder of Nur Farah, who was found dead in Kampung Sri Kledang, Hulu Selangor yesterday evening.

The remand order on the 26-year-old suspect was issued by sessions court judge Nurul Mardhiah Mohammed Redza to assist investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Hussein yesterday said the body of Nur Farah, 25, was found at about 6pm in the oil palm plantation.

Subsequently, police arrested the woman’s boyfriend to assist in the investigation.

Nur Farah, who was from Sarawak and a former student of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, was last seen wearing a blue corporate blouse, headscarf and a pair of black pants.

Preliminary examinations confirmed that the body was the victim who had been reported missing in connection with a report in Tanjung Malim. – July 16, 2024
