KENINGAU: A local man suspected of attacking a police officer in Kampung Pauh Tulid, Sook, on Dec 19 last year was arrested on Saturday after nearly four months on the run.

District police chief Supt Yampil Garai confirmed that the 40-year-old suspect, identified as Supsek Rafi Bin Lukas, was detained at a house without a number in Kampung Pauh Tulid, Sook, at about 7.40pm by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Keningau district police headquarters.

He said urine tests found the suspect positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine, while police records also showed he had 11 previous criminal records under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

The suspect was remanded for five days from March 15 to March 20 under Section 326 of the Penal Code after a remand order was obtained from the Keningau Court on Sunday.

Yampil said the case came to light on Dec 19, 2025, when a doctor at the Sook Health Clinic received a patient believed to be a GOF police officer who had sustained injuries to the hand and abdomen following an attack suspected to have involved a samurai.
