The suspect in a woman’s neck-stabbing incident at a restaurant has been remanded for seven days to assist police investigations

ALOR SETAR: The suspect believed to have stabbed a woman in the neck outside a restaurant in Jalan Titi Gajah, here, last night, has been remanded for seven days until May 24 to assist investigations.

Magistrate Noor Shifa Mohd Hamzah issued the remand order to allow police to complete their investigation under Section 326 of the Penal Code.

The 32-year-old man arrived at the court lock-up here at 8.20 am in a police vehicle.

Meanwhile, Kota Setar district police chief ACP Syed Basri Syed Ali said the suspect was arrested at a mosque in Taman Uda along the Sultanah Bahiyah Highway, here, at about 1.50 am today.

Earlier reports said a woman suffered severe neck injuries after she was allegedly stabbed by a man known to her while inside her car.
