Its director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli said the course is designed to give these drivers a second chance by undergoing mandatory rehabilitation before their licence eligibility is reassessed. image is not available

“The goal is to improve road safety and raise professionalism among PSV and GDL drivers. Right now, once they get their licence, they can start driving immediately with no follow-up. Some forget key road rules. This programme aims to fix that,” he says.

Aedy added that drivers must attend the course before their suspended licences can be reissued. JPJ is still in talks with the Transport Ministry to finalise certain details. image is not available

For now, the course will only apply to PSV and GDL holders, but JPJ may expand it to cover other driving licence categories in the future. The department is also looking into a separate refresher course specifically for heavy vehicle drivers, Aedy confirmed.
