
Kota Kinabalu: The fourth edition of the Tanjung Aru Beach Festival not only highlights the strengths, talents, and creativity of Sabahans but also demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability.
Describing the event as extraordinary, State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew said everyone’s support is “an investment in the future of our community”.
“Today, I am reminded of how powerful our community truly is. This festival, now in its 4th year, is a living testament to the talent, creativity, and resilience of our people. Every performance, every piece of art, and every entrepreneurial venture here today is the result of passion and hard work.
“We’re here not just to celebrate the event but to honour how truly special Sabah is to all of us,” said Christina during the launch of the two-day event at Prince Phillip Park here on Saturday night.

Her speech was read by her assistant minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai.
Christina also extended her thanks to Tanjung Aru Eco Development for their continuous support of this event, from the first edition to the present.
She expressed her pleasure at learning about future plans to upgrade the venue with a focus on maintaining public accessibility.
“This initiative is highly commendable, as it addresses the growing need for more spaces to host events such as festivals, MICE, and recreational activities, especially with the steady rise in tourism.
We are confident that these improvements will create new opportunities for the Tanjung Aru Beach Festival to grow even further in the coming.”
