Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has given the green light for the five members of the Independent Police Conduct Commission (IPCC) to commence their duties without waiting for the appointment of the remaining two members. This decision ensures that the crucial oversight of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) can proceed promptly. Saifuddin emphasized that the process of identifying suitable candidates for the vacant positions is actively underway and assured that the names will be unveiled at an appropriate time.
The lineup for the IPCC includes Datuk Zolkopli Dahalan as chairman, Datuk Mohamad Jazamuddin Hail Ahmad Nawawi as deputy chairman, and Martina@Kartina Zamhari, Datuk Shukri Abdullah, and Datuk Tan Kang Sai as members tasked with overseeing the conduct of the PDRM.
In a separate development, Saifuddin addressed the Cabinet's brief discussion about the pardon application by former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak. He clarified that the decision regarding Najib's pardon does not fall within the Cabinet's jurisdiction but rests with the Pardons Board.
