PAS is urging for the immediate submission of a notice to vacate the seats of Bersatu representatives who have defected. PAS deputy president, Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, stressed the importance of this action, emphasizing the need for swift measures.

Tuan Ibrahim announced that PAS would meet with Bersatu on Tuesday, June 11, to discuss the recent revocation of six Members of Parliament and one state assemblyman from Bersatu. He reiterated PAS's support for the move to vacate the seats of these MPs and the Selangor assemblyman who have switched allegiance to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's government.

"PAS fully supports the need for urgent action to inform the Dewan Rakyat Speaker to vacate the seats of these defected MPs and the Selangor assemblyman," said Tuan Ibrahim. He added that Perikatan Nasional component parties would meet to hear Bersatu's explanation and seek further clarification.

Bersatu Deputy President, Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, confirmed that Bersatu leaders would attend the Perikatan meeting on Tuesday to address the issue of the defected members. "We will finalize everything on Tuesday," Ahmad Faizal said regarding the notice to the Dewan Rakyat Speaker.

Last Friday, June 7, Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul stated that he had not received any official notice about the six Bersatu MPs whose memberships were revoked. He mentioned that he needed time to review the matter thoroughly, especially considering the anti-party hopping law.

The six MPs who defected include Labuan MP Datuk Dr. Suhaili Abdul Rahman, Zahari Kechik (Jeli), Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar), Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal (Bukit Gantang), Mohd Azizi Abu Naim (Gua Musang), and Tanjong Karang MP Datuk Dr. Zulkafperi Hanapi. Additionally, on March 6, Selat Klang state representative Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari of Bersatu joined the Unity Government.

Bersatu has recently updated its party rules to automatically expel any elected representative who defects to another party.
