THE Swiss Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (SwissCham Philippines) and Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE) recently hosted a forum on investing in the Philippines.
Held in conjunction with Swiss National Day, the forum, “Swiss Perspectives: Building Business in the Philippines,” discussed Swiss and Philippine business perspectives on creating resilient, future-ready, and globally competitive organizations. More than 60 industry leaders, executives, diplomats, policymakers and entrepreneurs attended.
At the event, Swiss Ambassador to the Philippines Nicolas Brühl and Philippine Trade Undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo highlighted the importance of investment, innovation and strong public-private partnerships for inclusive and sustainable economic growth.The program featured four business leaders whose combined experiences demonstrated the process of creating lasting organizations — from innovation and talent development to business execution and long-term stewardship.
Dashlabs.ai cofounder Bryan Giger discussed validating ideas, identifying opportunities, and expanding technology ventures in Southeast Asia.
Amihan Solutions founder and CEO Patric Lengacher talked about developing globally competitive Filipino talent through culture, leadership and capability development.
SwissCham Philippines chairperson and Target Display CEO Felix Fiechter reflected on his over 30 years’ experience in establishing and sustaining a business in the Philippines, highlighting the value of resilience, trusted relationships, continuous learning, and investing in people.
David Zuellig — Centre Médicale Internationale chairman, The Zuellig Group comanaging director, and former Zuellig Pharma chairman — offered his perspectives on stewardship, values-based leadership, and the principles that allow organizations to endure across generations.
“Great organizations are built by great people. When we invest in talent and culture, we create businesses that are resilient, innovative, and built to last,” Lengacher said.
“Organizations endure not simply because they [get] older or larger, but because each generation does its part to strengthen its foundation and protect its legacy,” Zuellig noted.
SwissCham Philippines said the event is part of efforts to strengthen Swiss-Philippine economic relations by providing platforms for dialogue, collaboration, and sharing of useful business insights.
It also reflects Switzerland’s long history of innovation, responsible business, and partnership with the Philippines.
