MUAR Member of Parliament Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has said he will announce his wedding date with fiancée Bella Astillah “when the time is right”, as both families continue preparations for their upcoming nuptials.
The 34-year-old politician, who became engaged to the singer and actress in March, indicated that the solemnisation and wedding are expected to take place within the coming months, likely before the end of the year.
“We will share it when the time is right. Despite our busy schedules, we are continuing with preparations for the solemnisation and wedding ceremony. God willing, it will be within the coming months, before the end of the year.
“As for the date, it is usually a family matter and when the time comes, do not worry, we will share it. An engagement and marriage are not things to be hidden; we will share the good news,” he said when met at the Anugerah Inspirasi PTTI 2026 held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre.
Syed Saddiq said that, although both he and Bella maintain demanding professional commitments, preparations for their wedding have been progressing smoothly.
“Alhamdulillah, everything is going well. Bella is my fiancée and I want to ensure everything runs smoothly, God willing before the end of this year,” he said.
He added that their busy careers have, in fact, helped them adapt and prepare for married life by learning to balance responsibilities and prioritise family.
“I think when both are busy working, sometimes that is a good thing. We learn to find a middle ground and divide time for family. This is a test for us to become a better couple in the future.
“As I have shared, I want to be a good husband-to-be. If my fiancée chooses to continue her career as a professional singer, actress and brand ambassador, the family must still be taken care of.
“These are among the things we are learning as we move towards marriage and beyond,” he said.
Earlier, Syed Saddiq officiated the ceremony and delivered an inspirational address to students and parents in attendance. The event was also attended by prominent figures and entertainers including Azizan Osman, Awie, M. Nasir, AC Mizal, MK K-Clique, Iman Troye, Alyssa Dezek, Hael Husaini and Zaki Yamani.
Organiser PTTI Group Sdn Bhd also marked a milestone, producing 534 students who achieved straight As in the 2025 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.
The achievement earned the group recognition from The Malaysia Book of Records for the third time, following previous successes in 2022 and 2024. - May 3, 2026
