TAIWANESE technology company Synology has launched the PAS7700 in the Philippines, an enterprise all-flash NVMe storage platform designed for organizations running high-performance and mission-critical workloads.
The company said the system was developed to support enterprises handling increasing volumes of data from artificial intelligence (AI), analytics, virtualization and other data-intensive operations.
“PAS7700 reflects Synology's 25+ years of experience in storage and our close collaboration with enterprise customers to address evolving requirements for high availability, performance, and scalability,” said Bie-i Chu, executive vice president of the Synology NAS Group.
Synology said the storage platform underwent a year of enterprise proof-of-concept testing before its release.
The PAS7700 uses an active-active architecture that allows both controllers to operate simultaneously, helping reduce service disruptions in case of hardware or network failure. The system also includes failover mechanisms, triple-parity RAID protection and mirrored write cache protection.
The platform supports file and block storage protocols, including NVMe-oF, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, SMB and NFS. Synology said the system can scale up to 1.65 petabytes of raw storage capacity using expansion units.
According to the company, the platform is intended for industries such as manufacturing, semiconductor design, engineering, healthcare and game development, where multiple users and systems require continuous access to large amounts of data.
The PAS7700 also includes security and backup features such as self-encrypting drives, immutable snapshots, snapshot replication and Hyper Backup to support data protection and recovery.
“As businesses in the Philippines continue to accelerate digital transformation, reliable and resilient data infrastructure has become essential to maintaining competitiveness and ensuring uninterrupted operations,” said Claire Huang, Synology country manager for the Philippines.
The PAS7700 runs on DSM Enterprise, Synology’s operating system for enterprise storage environments. The company said the platform is now available through its network of partners and distributors.
