
There are about 30,000 slots for eligible Sabahan household heads to register in the State government’s SYUKUR Aid programme that aims to assist 100,000 household heads for this year.
Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, said as of now, 72,039 households have been registered, which means there is still room for additional applicants.

For reference, the Poverty Income Line (PGK) in Sabah, as determined by the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) of the Federal Government, is RM2,742 for the poverty threshold and RM1,218 for hardcore poverty.

The aid initiative is designed to ease the financial burden of those in need, particularly the low-income population.
"At this initial stage, the Syukur aid program is targetted, prioritising those listed under e-Kasih, in line with the government's commitment to reducing poverty,” he said.
