Taguig police net all 10 most wanted for September

MANILA, Philippines — The Taguig City police has already accounted for the 10 persons on the city’s September most wanted list, sustaining similar results in previous months.

The wanted individuals faced charges involving murder, statutory rape, theft, robbery, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“Behind every warrant is a case that needs to move forward. Our duty is to find those wanted by the courts so they can answer the charges against them and the people affected can pursue justice,” said Taguig chief of police PCOL Julius Añonuevo in a statement on Wednesday.

The police chief acknowledged Mayor Lani Cayetano’s support for efforts to strengthen cooperation between law enforcers and residents.

“Mayor Lani Cayetano recognizes that public safety requires the police and the community to work together. We appreciate her support as we build residents’ trust and encourage them to help us prevent and solve crimes."

According to Añonuevo, the Taguig police will continue pursuing persons with outstanding warrants to sustain the results in the coming months. He said personnel will strengthen coordination with other police units and follow up on leads to locate wanted persons and bring them before the courts.
