PETALING JAYA: Sarawak premier Abang Johari Openg has dismissed speculation about the health of the state’s governor, Abdul Taib Mahmud, who is currently abroad.
Abang Johari said Taib has recovered from an illness and will return to Sarawak once his health permits.
“(Taib) is taking a break as he had fallen sick while outside the country. He has recovered and is still resting, that’s all. He will be back,” he said.
On Tuesday, deputy minister in the premier’s department Sharifah Hasidah said Taib was recovering after falling ill overseas but was still in touch with the state government.
