KUALA LUMPUR   Rapper Wee Meng Chee, known as Namewee, will be released on police bail after being held in police custody following the death of a Taiwanese influencer in a hotel room in Kuala Lumpur last month.

Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar said investigations into the death of Hsieh Yun Hsin, 33, whose body was found in the bathroom of a hotel in Jalan Conlay, here on Oct 22, were still ongoing and instructions for further investigation have been issued to the police.

“We are offering police bail. Thus far, there is no lead to show that he was involved with causing the death of the deceased,“ Bernama quoted him saying when contacted yesterday.

Yesterday, Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus had said that the police had completed the investigation and had handed the investigation papers to the deputy public prosecutor.
