Kota Kinabalu: The documentary “Saudin, The Orangutan Whisperer” about a young Murut who travelled with world-famous filmmakers Martin and Osa Johnson from Sandakan to New York in 1936 will be presented at international film platforms.
Producer Noraini Rahman of Rye Production Sdn Bhd said they also planned to enter it for film festivals so that others would know that Sabah in Borneo is rich in true stories that are both historical and interesting at the same time.
“For starters, the film would be shown in History Channel Asia and if the response is good, it will be screened globally,” she told a press conference at the launch of the documentary and exhibition at the Azman Hashim Gallery and Sekafi Auditorium in Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). Following that, we plan to bring it to New York and Los Angeles for public screening.”
